Arlington county is situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington. Arlington is also bordered by Fairfax County and Falls Church to the northwest, west and southwest, and the City of Alexandria to the southeast. With a land area of 26 square miles (67 km2), Arlington is among the geographically smallest self-governing counties in the United States, and due to state law regarding population density, has no other incorporated towns within its borders.
Due to the county’s proximity to downtown Washington, D.C., Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government of the United States, including the Department of Defense (DoD) at the Pentagon, Drug Enforcement Administration, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). It is also home to Washington National Airport. The many federal agencies, government contractors, and service industries contribute to Arlington’s stable economy. It is the highest-income county in the United States by median family income, though it has the highest concentration of singles in the region. Arlington is also the location of national memorials and museums, including Arlington National Cemetery, the Pentagon Memorial, the Marine Corps War Memorial, and the United States Air Force Memorial.
The area that now contains Arlington County was ceded to the new United States federal government by the Commonwealth of Virginia. With the passage of the Residence Act in 1790, Congress approved a new permanent capital to be located on the Potomac River, the exact area to be selected by President George Washington. The Residence Act originally only allowed the President to select a location within Maryland as far east as what is now the Anacostia River. However, President Washington shifted the federal territory’s borders to the southeast in order to include the pre-existing city of Alexandria at the District’s southern tip. In 1791, Congress amended the Residence Act to approve the new site, including the territory ceded by Virginia. However, this amendment to the Residence Act specifically prohibited the “erection of the public buildings otherwise than on the Maryland side of the River Potomac. As permitted by the U.S. Constitution, the initial shape of the federal district was a square, measuring 10 miles (16 km) on each side, totaling 100 square miles (260 km2). During 1791–92, Andrew Ellicott and several assistants placed boundary stones at every mile point. Fourteen of these markers were in Virginia and many of the stones are still standing….Read More about Arlington VA. at Wikipedia…

SOOOO glad we went this route for our bathroom! We had a super outdated bathroom tub/tile situation and we weren't sure if we could manage a full renovation. Someone mentioned an option to glaze old tubs. I called porcelian tub restorations and Jenny was very efficient and quick to respond with everything. They are reasonably priced and were able to come out the same week that I had made my initial call. The employee who came out was professional and explained in detail the process every step of the way. It looks like a brand new bathroom!! Can't believe the difference and we would definitely recommend this to anyone who is updating a bathroom. Very happy all around.
Love your review! Glad we could be of service and thanks for your business. Paul Burns Porcelain Tub Restorations
Hired to resurface a badly worn tub, which we couldn't keep clean. Our tub looked, literally like a brand new one. As well the whole experience was awesome.
Appreciate your kind words Richard and thanks for the business. Paul Burns | Porcelain Tub Restorations
Very impressed with the whole experience. Had them update our masterbath, by resurfacing our tub, wall tile and tile floor. We choose a speckle product they offer on our floor and the wall and tub done in white. Along with a new drain and overflow installation.
They completed the work in two days, with little disruption and the cost came in a third of gut and replace. The new look just blows my mind, and wish we had done this years ago. Everyone was great to work with, from the Lj our estimator to Jen in the office and our Tech Shavar, where all very professional and knowledgable. Would highly recommend their product and service.
Thanks for the awesome review, and we really appreciate your business. Paul Burns | Porcelain Tub Restorations
I guess you'd call it a drip on the top of the tub running down the side. Didn't see it till my first cleaning. Contacted C/S and was able to get the tech back out, who was able to sand it out. Once polished, it looked fine. A bit of a pain for me, as I had to leave work early to let him in. But glad it was taken care of. The company was responsive to my concerns and honored their warranty.
Glad we could correct this issue, Jesse. Apologies for the added hassle. Really appreciate your business and review. Paul Burns Porcelain Tub Restorations
Loved the finished product they applied to our tub and tile project. Absolutely looks brand new. Technician took care to keep the work area clean and protected. Everyone was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Along with very fair pricing, I would highly recommend them.
